Rosenblad tops final practice

Carl Rosenblad topped the final practice session of the STCC weekend at Gelleråsen. He topped the list with a time of 1:08.244, which was 0.4 seconds faster than Tommy Kristoffersson in second place. His team mate and championship leader Thed Björk rounded out top three.

Rosenblad was very pleased with being fastest and promised to give 5.000 swedish kronor to charity if he wins this race.

“I have had my worst season ever so far, but it will turn now, I am sure of it,” Rosenblad said.

New for this weekend is that qualifying will be run on the same day as the race, sunday. Qualifying will start at 12.30 and the race at 15.00.

Another new thing for this weekend is Janne “Flash” Nilsson’s BMW 320si. He is running a sequential gearbox in his car, usually the BMW’s uses H-gearboxes. We reported about this yesterday and said that it was the first ever S2000 BMW 320si. Something that isn’t completely true as John Nielsen in the Danish championship has a sequential gearbox in his BMW 320si, among others.

Nilsson was sixth fastest in this test, out pacing his team mate Göransson. Stay tuned for reports from qualifying and the race tomorrow!
