Jason Plato ready for Brands

SEAT Sport driver Jason Plato has promised to ‘kick some arse’ when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship arrives at Brands Hatch on 23/24 September.

Plato suffered a mixed weekend at Knockhill recently. After winning from pole position in race one, he then lined-up against championship leader Matt Neal in race two.

When Fabrizio Giovanardi passed both Neal and Plato on the way to claiming Vauxhall’s 100th BTCC victory, things went from bad to worse for the SEAT driver who eventually fell foul of the chasing pack on the last lap of the race.

With a badly damaged car, Plato was then forced to sit out race three while Neal went on to extend his championship lead.

“What happened today is pretty much the story of our year, because we’ve been incredibly unlucky,” said Plato in an interview with Crash.Net. “We’ve had seven DNFs in this Championship so far and I’m still third in the series, only three points behind Colin Turkington, which proves that we can do without bad luck.”

“We just have to pack up from Knockhill, put some plasters on our cuts and bruises and turn up at Brands Hatch and kick some arse!”
