Dahlgren disappointed

Robert Dahlgren made his debut in the STCC 2004. He made a good first season and challenged Göransson for the title. He finished second but this year things have not gone his way, the fight for the title 2006 is long gone for the Volvo-driver.

“There is no point hiding it, this season hasn’t gone the way we wanted it to,” Dahlgren said.

Dahlgren is 26 years old, living in Skellefteå, Sweden. He is the number one driver of the Volvo team and is fourth in the championship behind the BMW and Audi championship contenders.

“This year we have had a really good pace when everything is working. One win, one second place and one third place is proof of that,” Dahlgren said and added:
“But with those results you would of course want a better situation for the final race.”

“The problems started for us already during pre-season when we got behind our test schedule. The work on the engines got delayed. What we lost then is something that we have tried to regain during the season, and it isn’t like the competitors are just standing there waiting for us,” Dahlgren said.

The goal for the final race is to make a championship result better than 2005. That year Dahlgren finished seventh.
“Now we are aiming for a win at the final race,” Dahlgren said with a smile.
