Tony Rickardsson tested for Audi
Multiple Speedway World Champion Tony Rickardsson completed a test for KMS/Audi right after the STCC finale at Mantorp Park. Also present at the test was JTCC-winner Roger Eriksson and Polo Cup-champion Jimmy Johansson. All three drivers were coached by DTM-star Mattias Ekström.
“All three drivers did a good job,” said Ekström monitoring the test behind a computer screen.
The two Audi A4’s of champion Thed Björk and team mate Fredrik Ekblom were used during the test. No timing was done during the session. Roger Eriksson was first out on the track.
“This was great fun. There is alot of difference in the handling and power compared to the car I drive in JTCC. STCC is my goal, so this test ment alot indeed,” Eriksson said.
Jimmy Johansson was equally happy with his run.
“It felt very good driving the Audi. I think I have some advantage knowing how the car handles since I have driven S60 Challenge before,” Johansson said.
Tony Rickardsson previously tested a BMW 320si for Flash Engineering. There are alot of rumors and speculations regarding his plans for next season. Speedway is long gone for his part and racing is next up.
“In a few weeks I will reveal what I will do next year, it will be something really good,” Rickardsson said with a smile.
Rumor has it that Rickardsson will continue driving Porsche Carrera Cup, but to extend his driving from Sweden out in Europe.
