Why Troberg and Björk parted

Recently it was announced that Picko Troberg and David Björk part ways. Björk joined the team for the 2006 season and scored good results despite a smaller team. Due to budget issues the team constellation will not continue for 2007.
“I was called up by a person who said that the family Björk wants to move on by their own. It is of course about money,” Troberg said to Expressen.

“We have a situation with a quarter of a million Swedish Kronor (25.000 €) that I think they have left to pay. They think otherwise. This is racing, but everyone must understand that it costs money to compete in the STCC – nothing is for free,” Troberg continued.

The plans for David Björk are uncertain, most likely he will continue with the BMW 320i E46 with another team or his own.

“I don’t know, they are going to pick up the car which is in our workshop. If they are not going to run the car with us they can’t have it here. Björk owns the car and perhaps he has got an offer from someone else. He is a good kid and a talented driver, but he has still got a lot to learn,” Troberg said.

What Troberg and his team will do during the coming season is uncertain. According to our information they are looking to find another car and driver.
