Who will drive for KMS/Audi?

The STCC Audi team Kristoffersson Motorsport has an unclear plan for the 2007 driver line-up. Fredrik Ekblom has left the team for West Coast Racing and BMW, champion Thed Björk could be on the way to DTM with Audi. If Björk leaves; team boss and driver Tommy Kristoffersson will be all alone.

“Our ambition is to run three cars in 2007. Which drivers it will be is much up to what Thed will do. But I feel confident no matter what will happen,” Kristoffersson said.

On Thursday Audi Germany will meet up with KMS in Stockholm to discuss the coming season. A decision regarding Thed Björk and DTM could also be made here.

“It is not an advantage that there already is a Swede in DTM (Ekström) and the Swedish market is not that big. But he has done two good races for Audi. He has got the qualities required as driver, but on the marketing side things are looking a bit worse,” Kristoffersson said.

Kristoffersson refuses to reveal which drivers are in line to replace Ekblom and Björk, if needed. Jimmy Johansson and Roger Eriksson have recently tested for the team.

“Those are some interesting names, but there are others too. But I have no further comments on this subject,” Kristoffersson said.
