STCC 2007 calendar released

The calendar for the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2007 was released today. Nine events were run last year, 2007 will host eleven. New to the calendar is Sturup and Kinnekulle.
“We have a fantastic calendar for next year. More tracks, long term events and strong investments. The positive development for STCC is coming now,” Thomas Lindskog from the STCC organisation said.

Last year the season started in the middle of May. For 2007 the premiere takes place in April and the season then continues with almost two races per month. A summer break will be held between July and August.

“All tracks have a serious development plan and we are discussing that to develop Swedish racing. We are aiming to get long term deals with the track for our own development goals,” Lindskog said.

The format of the races will be the same as in 2006, one race of 40 minutes with a mandatory pitstop.
