Team RAC testing at Brands Hatch

Front-running squad Team RAC today at Brands Hatch tested a near-identical version of the BMW it will run in this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. Colin Turkington, third in last year’s championship, and rookie BTCC team-mate Tom Onslow-Cole, the reigning Renault Clio champion, both drove the car.

Today’s test gave the first indication of what the team’s pair of latest-spec 320si E90s will look like when they line up on the grid for the opening rounds of the BTCC back at Brands Hatch in Kent on 1 April.

Team RAC’s 2007 own BMWs, bought brand new from the German manufacturer, are nearing completion at its race preparation company WSR’s workshop.

The BMW used in today’s test is a loan model that the outfit also ran in mixed weather conditions last week at former BTCC track Pembrey, in Wales and which will help the team gather valuable technical data as the clock to the BTCC season counts down…
