STCC goes live on SVT in 2008

The Swedish Touring Car Championship will be broadcasted live on the stately owned Swedish Television, SVT, next year. The races will be run live with support classes Pro Superbike and Porsche Carrera Cup. Starting from 14.00 CET on the race weekends the broadcast will be 90 minutes long.
“It is a huge step and really great for us. Now Swedish Motorsport will its place in the sun that it deserves,” Thomas Lindskog from STCC AB said.

Starting this year SVT will broadcast eleven magazine programmes from the STCC-races. 30 minutes in the channel SVT 2 at 22.30 CET with one re-run.

Johan Torén will produce and host the shows.
“This is the biggest production for motorsport I have ever worked with. We will be able to provide the viewers a comletely unbeatable entertainment,” Torén said.
