Sturup Qualifying with a big crash

The STCC-premiere of 2007 got a frantic start. Robert Dahlgren took pole position ahead of Stureson and Stippler. But all eyes are on championship contenders Richard Göransson and Robin Rudholm that are out of the race even before it has begun. Göransson spun in turn one and got t-boned by Robin Rudholm who did not see the yellow flags. Both cars were badly damaged but lucily no one was injured.

Instead Dahlgren made most of the super pole and took pole only just ahead of Peugeot’s Johan Stureson. While there were celebrations in the Volvo and Peugeot garages things were darker in the Flash Engineering pit.

“I’m so disapointed and sad. I was fourth in the qualifying despite being taken out with time left of the session,” Göransson said.

The race starts at 15.00 CET.
