Frank Stippler takes Mantorp pole
Frank Stippler took pole position in a very though qualifying session at Mantorp Park. Stippler heads the list ahead of the two BMW-drivers Richard Göransson and Robin Rudholm.
“Yes it was a good lap. The team has done a very good job,” said Stippler.
Richard Göransson was fastest in the qualifying before the super pole, but could not maintain the pole.
“I was a bit too careful in the last part of the circuit. But I am pleased and I have more to give. The race is long,” said Göransson.
The two West Coast Racing-drivers starts third and fourth with Rudholm fastest of the two.
“I am very happy with my lap, it was my fastest lap of this weekend so far. On this track it is better to start third instead of second,” said Rudholm.
Ekblom was also pleased but does not want the same situation as last race when he was stuck behind Rudholm and Dahlgren.
“No, I want to be ahead of them. The lap was ok, but the others were quicker. It will be a interesting race,” said Ekblom.
The winner of the two first races, Robert Dahlgren of Volvo, will start 12:th. He had seventh best time but will be moved down five places due to his penalty from last race when he pushed off Tegelby.
