Rudholm takes pole – Stippler DQ

Robin Rudholm took pole position for the fifth race of the Swedish Touring Car Championship. But the big thing today was Frank Stippler who first took pole but then was disqualified and moved to eight place due to a too low car.
“The team changed the dampers without checking the height of the car, I have never experienced something like this. I am so god damned disapointed, I did a good job but my engineers did not,” said a very angry Stippler.

While the faces in the Audi team were grim, the faces in WestCoastRacing were very happy.
“Excellent! We have a really good car and we do really feel that we can win today,” said Rudholm.

Third on the grid is Richard Göransson who was satisfied with his lap.
“Keeping in mind that we have the heaviest car in the field except for Ekblom and with such a close field we are really pleased,” said Göransson.

Fifth was championship leader Fredrik Ekblom ahead of Alexander Stockenfeldt and Mattias Andersson. The newcomers Chevrolet got a though start of their STCC season. Only one lap in to the qualifying something broke in the engine and Nicklas Karlsson was left stranded on the track. No new engine is avalible and the team will have to wait until their next race – Falkenberg in four weeks.

The race starts at 15.00 CET.
