Third Norwegian win for Göransson!
Richard Göransson continued his win streak in Norway taking second win of the season.
“Awesome! This is so bloody perfect for the championship, now we’re really in for it,” said a very happy Göransson after the finish. Frank Stippler took second place ahead of Robert Dahlgren after a controversial pass on the last laps thanks to Stippler’s team mate Tommy Kristoffersson.
The weather once again played a big role of the race today. Just before the start a heavy rain shower came over the track. Dahlgren started from pole with wet tyres while Göransson started from the pits on wet tyres.
Dahlgren held the lead for long, but could not hold Göransson behind him as the Flash Engineering driver stormed through the field. Dahlgren was second until the very last couple of laps when Stippler passed thanks to his team mate Kristoffersson, according to Dahlgren.
“I should have been second today. I was about to lap Kristoffersson when he hit me and Stippler passed,” a very angry Dahlgren said.
Stippler on the other hand was very pleased with a podium finish after his struggling season start.
“Finally I had some luck! The race was good but difficult with the wet conditions. This was not a win, but this is a big day for me,” said Stippler.
Fourth was Alexander Storckenfeldt ahead of championship leader Fredrik Ekblom who just barely hold on to the lead with one point ahead of Dahlgren. Ekblom started on slicks and pitted for four wets early and lost a lot of time.
Next up is Falkenberg in two weeks.
