STCC or rallycross for Tommy Rustad?

Norwegian Tommy Rustad is still considering another season in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Earlier this year he announced that the plan for 2008 was to go back to rallycross.
“We have set the 1st December as deadline for the decision to start a rallycross team or not. If we won’t, STCC is my best other option,” said Rustad to STCC.se.

The season with Opel Team Sweden this year has been both up and down. The season started with a lot of broken engines and very slow pitstops. But the final race of the year resulted in a win.

“It was a great win, even if we were a bit lucky. But we are behind BMW, Volvo and Audi, that is for sure. The Swedish dealer needs to put more in more effort if we are going to be competitive,” said Rustad.

If Rustad will be on the starting grid of the STC next year it will most likely be in an Opel.
“I like the team, but of course I am always open for suggestions. If I was able to choose freely it would have been very nice to drive a BMW,” said Rustad.
