A Vauxhall or SEAT for Joakim Frid?

The privateers cup winner of the Swedish Touring Car Championship Joakim Frid was present at the BTCC-final at Thruxton. According to our information the Opel-driver visited both the Vauxhall-team and SEAT-team in search of a new car for the 2008 season.
“We have a thing that we are working on, but it is nothing that we can reveal right now,” said Frid to STCC.se.

Frid won the title this year ahead of Tobias Tegelby with ten points after taking an all important fourth place in the final STCC race of 2007 at Mantorp. The car he was driving this year is an previous BTC spec’ Opel Astra. But for the coming season Frid is looking for a more competitive car.
“I want to be in a competitive car next year. We have driven two years in the privateers cup now and it is not interesting to drive a third year,” said Frid.

If it will be a Vauxhall Vectra, SEAT Léon or any other car Frid does not want to reveal yet.
“A Vauxhall could be just as interesting as a BMW, SEAT, Volvo or what ever it might be,” said Frid.
