Volvo and Thed Björk comments rumors

As we reported earlier this week Thed Björk is one of the drivers that could be behind the wheel of an Volvo C30 in the Swedish Touring Car Championship next year. The rumor was brought up on the official STCC site where Volvo team Polestar Racing boss Christian Dahl said:
“We are looking at a number of different interesting names at the moment, but I do not want to comment it further,” said Dahl.

In our recent article we also pointed out the that the relations between Thed Björk and the Audi team have become bad.
“I do not know where that information comes from. Perhaps it is because I have said that I am open for discussions with other teams. I do not think that I have a bad relationship with anyone,” said Björk.

So far the Audi team Kristoffersson Motorsport has not given Björk any offers, nor any information if they are able to run the new A4 next season.
“Tommy Kristoffersson has nothing solid to offer me, he and the team is in a process of negotiations, it was the same thing last year. We have not spoken that much this autumn but we will most likely talk when things start to fall in place,” said Björk.

Recent information indicate that the Audi team could have a hard time getting the new A4. In an previous article Audi Sport Germany boss Dr. Wolfgang Ulrich said that they will most likely not be able to build new cars for STCC due to the new DTM cars. This could be one of the reasons also that Björk is looking for a new team.
“We have not made good results this year and it has been a pretty heavy season. Now I have told teams that I am available. I am one of the best drivers and Polestar (Volvo) is one of the best team, so it is pretty logical that we have a dialogue. Last season it was only Audi for me, now I am open for suggestions,” Björk said.
