WRS will manage Chevrolet in STCC 2008

The STCC Chevrolet team will next year be run by the team WRS. The team is headed by Börje Wessman and they will replace the team constellation from this year.
“It is with great joy that we welcome Börje and his guys from WRS to Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden. I am convinced that WRS and Börje is the part that we missed during this season,” said team owner Nicklas Karlsson to STCC.se.

This year Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden only ran a few races this year with limited success. Team owner Karlsson was behind the wheel this year, but who will drive the Chevrolet next year is still not confirmed.
“I am discussing with both Swedish drivers that have driven STCC before, but also foreign drivers for the coming season. But nothing is settled today and I want to be sure that someone of these drivers can deliver good results for Chevrolet and our partners in STCC 2008,” said Karlsson.

According to our information David Björk could be behind the wheel. Björk has worked closely with Wessman before and has been rumored earlier this year to be the driver of the Chevrolet. But it is not unlikely that Karlsson could continue behind the wheel despite the rumors and indications that he is heading for another racing class in Sweden.

Börje Wessman ran the PTR BMW’s in the STCC privateers cup for Fredrik Lestrup and Roger Eriksson this year.
