First test phase over for new Volvo C30
The first phase of the development of the new Volvo C30 in S2000 specifications is complete. Robert Dahlgren and the Volvo Polestar Racing team have tested frequently during the last two months.
“The car has got potential and the tests have gone well. The team has got a lot to work on,” said Dahlgren.
The team has tested at, among other tracks, Gelleråsen and Dahlgren describes the car as more aggressive and direct to drive compared to the older Volvo S60.
“It is an almost six year newer car and there has happened a lot in the development. The car is more aggressive and feels more direct in the steering, a stronger experience,” said Dahlgren.
The team is now in the progress of developing the car in a windtunnel and taking forth parts.
“There will be a lot of new stuff after the winter and I cannot wait until we can optimize it for the tracks. It feels very promising and I certainly think the car will be a championship contender during the three years that Polestar will run it. 2008 will be a extremely fun season and I am sure our opponents will have to look out,” promised Dahlgren.
