Flash Engineering buys new BMW 320si
Flash Engineering will continue driving BMW 320si in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. The team won the team title this year and drivers Richard Göransson and Janne “Flash” Nilsson finished third and fifth respectively.
“Our team is only 22 months old and it is now that bits are starting to fall in place. Next year we will launch an serious attempt at winning both titles and placing both drivers on the podium,” said driver and team owner Nilsson.
The driver line up will remain the same with Nilsson and Göransson behind the wheel. 2008 will be the third year of co-operation between Göransson and Flash Engineering, plus the sixth year for Göransson with BMW. The aim for Göransson is to take his third STCC title.
“Absolutely! It feels very nice to be able to take it up a notch with a brand new car and get the best conditions to win a third title,” said Göransson.
The team points out that they are pleased with the co-operation with BMW as they have developed a lot of new parts for the car. The team has introduced sequential gearbox, bio-ethanol engine and Öhlins-dampers.
“We have a very special relationship with BMW. Take the Öhlins-dampers that almost all BMW S2000-cars have fitted now. We had them first of all on our cars and developed them with Öhlins. That is something that we are very proud of and will continue to work with,” said team boss Johan Kvick.
