Xero Competition to return to the BTCC

Xero Competition is expected to announce a return to the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship with a two-car team in 2008.

The team will be running the Lexus IS200 cars that they campaigned with Adam and Mark Jones in 2006, although the cars have since undergone extensive modifications.

The team was expecting to run the latest Lexus model, but time constraints and homologation issues have made them put the build of the new car on hold while they start the season with the earlier IS200 model.

The two drivers are yet to be announced, but suggestions are that one driver will be new to the BTCC after an impressive test in the car just before Christmas.

With the possibility of BTC Racing also running their IS200 Lexus cars again after favourable reliability improvements to their engines, the Lexus should be well represented again in 2008.
