Chevrolet signs Norwegian Thomas Schie

What TouringCarTimes reported about yesterday, today was confirmed: Thomas Schie will drive for Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden in the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2008.
“I am very glad and proud to be a part of the Chevrolet team. It will be though to be in the top, but with the Chevrolet team behind me I will do my best to challenge the title race,” said Schie.

Schie has previously driven in the STCC. In 1999 the Norwegian drove an Alfa Romeo 156 for the Picko Troberg-team. Today his team boss is named Nicklas Karlsson, who drove the Lacetti last year.

“Schie is one of the best drivers in Scandinavia,” said a happy Karlsson.

Last year the results were poor for the newly started Chevorlet team. The problems were mainly financial, something Karlsson promises will be different this year.

“After a very hard autumn and winter we have finally got the last piece of the puzzle. Now I feel that we have all conditions to succeed with the very fast Lacetti, Börje Wessman as technical chief and Schie behind the wheel,” Karlsson added.
