Tommy Rustad confirmed for Volvo

The Volvo team Polestar Racing today confirmed that Norwegian Tommy Rustad will drive the second Volvo C30 in the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2008.
“I think I am the happiest Norwegian in the world right now. It has been a dream for me to drive for Volvo again and I cannot wait until the premiere at Knutstorp,” said Rustad.

Rustad will drive the second Volvo C30 bio-ethanol along side Robert Dahlgren. The team has signed a three year deal with Volvo to run the cars and Volvo Sweden Motorsport boss Alezander Murdzevski is very happy.

“We are here to develop a new car with the ambition to challenge and win against cars that have been developed for several years. It is also the reason why we chose Tommy. He is extremely fast on the tracks and he can with his vast experience contribute positively in an environment of intense development work,” said Murdzevski.

Rustad has previously driven for Volvo in Norway during the nineties where he scored 48 victories.
