Johansson still plans to buy a Vauxhall
The plans TouringCarTimes reported about earlier that Tobias Johansson is looking to buy a Vauxhall Vectra seems still to be on. The Swede is trying to get a budget to buy it.
“We hope to be on the start line with a Vauxhall Vectra. It is a really competitive and good car. What is missing to make a really good program with it is a proper budget,” said Johansson.
The car costs around 250.000 € and along with that Johansson needs a budget to run it at 300.000 €.
“If we are going to run on this setup we have to do it properly. We are lacking around 200.000 € currently to be on the safe side,” said Johansson.
Next week Johansson has a number of appointments to secure the finance for the program. According to him the plans are 75% sure to come true.
According to our information the plan B is to buy Tommy Rustad’s Opel Astra from last year. The Opel Team Sweden is currently building a new shell for their 2008 program. Jens Edman is reported to be very close to sing a deal with the Opel team.
