Thed Björk to make Honda test debut
The Swedish Touring Car Championship champion of 2006 Thed Björk will make his first Honda-test on Wednesday. The team will go to the Italian track Varano.
“This is the first time I see my car. It is going to be extremely much fun to start testing,” said Björk to STCC.se.
His team mate and team owner Thomas Engström will also be present, driving the very same Accord he drove last year but with upgrades. Björk is very keen to get as much information about the Honda from Engström before he starts testing.
“I have pumped Thomas on information, there are a lot of stuff that will be different from the Audi I drove last year. For example how the car wears its tires, which tyre pressure is optimal, camber settings and much more,” said Björk.
The test in Italy will last for two days before going back to Sweden and the first official tests.
“We will use these tests to see that everything works. Then when we get back to Sweden we will focus on optimizing the car for qualifying and race setups. Then we will not hold back. For me it is very important that we are right in the top even in the tests, it has a psychological meaning when you are switching to a new manufacturer,” said Björk.
