48 Motorsport withdraws from premiere

There will be no Team 48 Motorsport at the British Touring Car Championship 2008 premiere at Brands Hatch. The team have withdrawn both cars and says that delays in the building of their second Alfa Romeo 156 is the reason.
“It’s important that all of our drivers are properly prepared and have sufficient time in the car prior to a race,” said team boss Luther Blissett to Autosport.

“Without this, we would be doing ourselves an injustice, which is why we took the decision to opt out on this occasion.”

The plans were that the team was going to run drivers Darelle Wilson and Matthew Gore. It remains to be seen if they make it out to the second round at Rockingham.
