Onslow-Cole OK after the big shunt
Tom Onslow-Cole was involved in one of the biggest accidents of the premiere weekend at Brands Hatch. His Vauxhall Vectra hit the wall hard at Cooper Straight after becoming a victim of a clash between Jason Plato and Gordon Shedden.
“I was an innocent bystander. Gordon (Shedden) had the racing line and the SEAT pushed into him causing me to crash. It’s just one of those things,” said Onslow-Cole.
“I’m feeling a bit sore but I’m OK. Overall it’s been a good weekend and I’m feeling quite comfortable in the team now. We found a lot of pace in the car and it’s looking good for the rest of the season,” said Onslow-Cole to BTCC.net.
Jason Plato who started the chain reaction commented the incident live from his car to the ITV-live TV-broadcast.
“I got a good exit while two guys in front did not. I went left to sneak past but there was not enough room and we touched very slightly,” said Plato.
Fortunately all drivers involved in the accident were uninjured.
