Chevrolet-man Schie aims for top five

Thomas Schie is aiming high for the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2008. The Norwegian makes his comeback in STCC this year, driving for Chevrolet Team Sweden.
“There are many very fast drivers in STCC. You really have to push to be able to be in the top,” said Schie to STCC.se.

The Chevrolet Lacetti is a proven very fast race car. But the few appearances the car made in the STCC last year did not produce any results. For this year how ever the Norwegian is aiming high.

“Our aim is to get in to top five in as many races as possible. It ought to be realistic, but it will be tough,” said Schie.

During the pre season tests so far at Sturup and Knutstorp Schie put times that put him tenth and fourth overall in the time sheets.

“You can really tell that the margins are small in STCC. If you have a bad day you are at the back of the field. But that is the way it is supposed to be! If it is tough, you need to push harder and then the success feels much better,” said Schie.
