Difficult premiere for S2000 Peugeot 308
The debut for the IPS Motorsport Peugeot 308 S2000 was difficult, just as for the Volvo C30 S2000. Johan Stureson qualified the car in 14th position and had to retire from the race as a wheel came off.
“It was sad that we did not get to run an entire race, but at least we have more data to use for the coming race,” said Stureson.
The team were very late in the preparations for the STCC-premiere and ran their first shakedown only days before.
“We are not happy if we only look at the result from the race, but the times are okay keeping in mind how little we have run the car,” said race engineer Magnus Juhlin.
Stureson was 12th in the race after when, one lap after the the pit stop, the wheel bolts failed.
“It is always sad to retire, but I got the chance to get to know the car and get some kilometers behind the wheel. We are going to test in good time for the race at Sturup in two weeks, to find the stability. Then the fast lap times comes and we will be noticed in the result lists,” said Stureson.
