FWD-domination at Sturup practice

The front wheel-driven cars completely dominated the practice session at Sturup Raceway. Robert Dahlgren turned things around from the last race when he started last and retired in the first corner. The Volvo-man was fastest.
“It is a bit strange, but it is a test and we’ll have to see how the qualifying goes. We have a good car and we will really go for it today,” said Dahlgren to STCC.se.

Second fastest was Thomas Schie in the blue Chevrolet Lacetti. The Norwegian was 0.294 seconds behind the Volvo C30 of Dahlgren.
“It is all about getting to the Super Pole and finishing high up. But things are looking good, we have worked on new differentials and it feels nice,” said Schie.

Third was privateer Roger Eriksson in his SEAT Léon. Last time Eriksson visited Sturup during pre season testing, his engine failed. Today how ever the car was right on pace.
“We have found a good speed and we continuously take steps forward. The qualifying is another thing, but we will push it to the max,” said Eriksson.

BMW-drivers Fredrik Ekblom, Robin Rudholm, Richard Göransson and Janne “Flash” Nilsson struggled for pace at Sturup today. All BMW-drivers complained on high weight and low grip. Best BMW-man was Rudholm in ninth.
“Yeah, I’m not sure what goes on. We had a lot of weight in the car and old tyres, I am not sure if the guys in the top still have new tires left from Knutstorp. But we are going to be back in the qualifying,” said Rudholm.

Stay tuned for qualifying at 12.25 CET.
