Minus ten places for Jan “Flash” Nilsson
The Flash Engineering-driver Janne “Flash” Nilsson will be moved down ten places on the grid later today. This is due to an engine change and the rules require two races per engine.
“It is not the start of the weekend you wanted. I was aiming for a podium, but now I have to go for a point or two at the best,” said “Flash”.
The team performed a test on friday at Gelleråsen, but nothing was found wrong with the engine then. When the team ran the engine for the first time at Sturup yesterday the fault was found.
BMW Motorsport-technicans instructed the team to change the engine and chief mechanic Lars Andersson explained the situation.
“There seem to be a problem with a main bearing and we have changed the engine. Of course it is frustrating to be moved ten placed down no matter how you qualify, but we will push max as usual anyway,” said Andersson.
