Robert Dahlgren takes first Volvo C30 pole
Robert Dahlgren confirmed his strong pace from practice and turned it in to a pole position. The Volvo-man took pole ahead of Thed Björk, Honda, and Robin Rudholm, BMW.
“So far this day has been really nice from when I woke up until now, lets hope it stays that way! The team has done a great job with the car since the last race at Knutstorp,” said Dahlgren.
Behind the 2006 STCC-champion Björk the two WestCoast Racing-drivers Fredrik Ekblom and Robin Rudholm occupied the places.
“Perhaps I did not push as much as I could, I think there is more to come in the race,” said Rudholm.
The penalties from the last race at Knutstorp came in to effect this weekend. Tomas Engström qualified third with Mattias Andersson behind him in fourth. But they were moved down to eight and ninth place on the grid respectively.
Engström was moved down five places due to his incident with Roger Eriksson at Knutstorp. Andersson had his penalty of five places down on the grid due to his incident with Thomas Schie at Knutstorp.
Schie did also have a five place down penalty but will not be affected by it since he crashed in the qualifying session today. Something broke in the rear suspension of the car, but the Norwegian is expected to be back in the race which starts at 15.00 CET.
