War of words between “Flash” and Ekblom
Reigning champion Fredrik Ekblom had a hard fight with Janne “Flash” Nilsson during the Swedish Touring Car Championship race at Gelleråsen. Both were in the gravel briefly in the first corner and then followed each other up through the field.
“He was no “Nice Freddy”! As soon as we caught up with a slower car he hit me. I became pissed off and let him past and returned the favor,” said “Flash”.
Ekblom and Flash climbed up in to top five, but then the race was over for Ekblom when something in the engine failed and he had to retire.
The hard words from “Flash” came unexpected according to Ekblom who was quick to reply.
“Perhaps he should drive a support class if the STCC it too tough for him. I understood that Flash was going to make things hard for me when I caught up with him. We both saw that Göransson took the lead and it was his job to stop me. But I am surprised by his words, we drove hard, but we were never off track,” said Ekblom.
“Flash” on the other hand was unhappy with his driving manners.
“He has made me pissed off and I am not afraid to hit people back, he should know that,” said “Flash”.
