The Swedish Touring Car Championship heads on to its first ever city race this weekend. In the harbor of Gothenburg, the second largest city in Sweden, the race will be held. The STCC-team Flash Engineering completed a lap around the brand new circuit yesterday in a BMW M3 fully loaded with cameras.

The 1.6 kilometers long track will provide challenging racing, as always in tight city tracks. Flash Engineering-man Janne “Flash” Nilsson is looking forward to the race.

“This will be my eight city race. I have raced in Monaco, Macau and Phoenix and this looks just as good,” said “Flash”.

The Gothenburg City Race will be the ninth city race for reigning champion Fredrik Ekblom who has raced at, among others, Macau.

“You cannot put two wheels outside the track on a city race. You cannot do that on a normal track either because you often loose time. But the difference for a city race is that if you do that, the race is over instead,” said Ekblom.
