Simonsen replaces Kristoffersson in Gothenburg

Andreas Simonsen will make the toughest possible Swedish Touring Car Championship debut possible. The 19 year-old Swede will drive Tommy Kristoffersson’s Audi A4 for Kristoffersson Motorsport during the Gothenburg City Race this weekend.
“It will be really cool, to drive a STCC-car will be extreme,” said Simonsen to STCC.se.

Simonsen competes in ADAC VW Cup in Germany on regular basis this season and has a lot to learn this weekend with a completely new city track, pitstop and more.

“Anyone who says it will not be a challenge is lying. I have driven a STCC-car before, but I have not taken part in a race with one,” said Simonsen.

Tommy Kristoffersson leaves his Audi A4 for Simonsen this race weekend and has full confidence in the young Swede.

“Andreas is young and has shown what he is capable of. Of course I would have wanted to drive the historical city race in Gothenburg, but we want to give Andreas the best possible conditions and focus on just one car,” said Kristoffersson.
