Another fastest lap for Thed Björk

During this mornings test session at Gothenburg Thed Björk again set the fastest lap. In a lap of 47.190s he was just 0.013s faster than Fredrik Ekblom in second. Where front-wheel-driven cars were the best cars on track yesterday, this morning the rear-wheel-driven cars joined the top of the field. Ekblom’s teammate Rudholm ended the session in fourth, just ahead of another BMW driver, Carl Rosenblad.

It was a clean session without any incidents, untill five minutes from the end. Richard Göransson touched the barrier with the left rear of his car and damaged his suspension. Göransson ended the session down in 10th, but still ahead of his teammate Janne “Flash” Nilsson, who only managed 13th place. The team is now working hard to get the damage on Göranssons car repaired before the start of the qualifying session.

Another suprise in the top of the field was privateer Thomas Schie. The Chevrolet driver finished the session in 3rd.

The qualifying for the race will start at 12.15 CET this afternoon. The first ever STCC street race in Gothenburg will start at 15.00 CET.
