Preview: Title battle continues at Sturup

The Swedish Touring Car Championship returns to Sturup this weekend for the second time this season. Fredrik Ekblom won here earlier this season recording his 20th STCC victory at Sturup Raceway. Mattias Andersson was second in his Alfa Romeo 156 and third went to Thed Björk amid controversy when he made a move pushing pole man Robert Dahlgren off the race track.

Previously at Sturup
Earlier this season Fredrik Ekblom won his 20th STCC race, taking the championship lead in the process ahead of Mattias Andersson and Thed Bö∂rk. In 2007 it was Robert Dahlgren who won the first of the two races at Sturup. Fredrik Ekblom won second time round.

The STCC season is extremely close. Fredrik Ekblom currently leads by only one point. He is closely followed by Thed Björk who won in the streets of Gothenburg last time out closing the gap. Richard Göransson is currently sat third with 27 points while Robin Rudholm is in 4th place with only a 1 point deficit from third.
