Tommy Rustad fastest around Falkenberg
Tommy Rustad was fastest during the first part of the Swedish Touring Car Championship test day at Falkenberg. The Volvo-man lapped the newly paved track in 44.604 with his Volvo C30.
“There is new asphalt around the entire track and the grip is really good, you can push very hard. We have changed a lot on the car and it feels like we have found the right settings,” said Rustad.
Second fastest was reigning champion Fredrik Ekblom in the WestCoast Racing-prepared BMW 320si.
“This is the fastest track we’ve got in Sweden and now it is even faster with the new tarmack,” said Ekblom.
Third fastest was championship leader Richard Göransson in the Flash Engineering-prepared BMW 320si.
“The car feels good but we have some areas that we need to work on,” said Göransson.
Fourth was Robert Dahlgren (who has got penalty of -10 places for the qualifying) and Robin Rudholm fifth.
The session started wet but the track dried up completely towards the end of the session. Stay tuned for the second part of the test!
