“Flash” changes gearbox to H-box

The Swedish Touring Car Championship team Flash Engineering has decided to drop their final sequential gearbox in the car of Janne “Flash” Nilsson. Instead “Flash” will use the regular H-box just as his team mate Richard Göransson.
“We have chosen to change gearbox because of the penalty weight. Actually we cannot afford this, but we cannot afford either to be at the back of the field with a heavy car,” said “Flash”.

A rear wheel driven car with sequential gearbox gets an extra 30 kilos and so far this year “Flash” and Carl Rosenblad have been the only drivers with this setup.
“We have made a study on how much the car weigh that have won races and are in the top this year and it is quite simple math that we must be as light as possible,” said “Flash”.

Flash Engineering completed a test with the new gearbox for “Flash” at Gelleråsen yesterday. The test was drenched in rain, but “Flash” was still happy.
“Of course it is sad that the test day more or less rained away. But there was no problems driving with the new gearbox and I am looking forward to the race next weekend,” said “Flash”.
