Volvo dominates Gelleråsen test
The Volvo-team occupied the two first places in the Swedish Touring Car Championship test at Gelleråsen ahead of the eight race of the 2008 season.
Robert Dahlgren was the only driver to get below 1:07 and was 0.218 seconds faster than his team mate Tommy Rustad. Championship leader and reigning champion Fredrik Ekblom was third fastest in his WestCoast Racing-prepared BMW 320si.
The weather conditions so far at Gelleråsen are dry but quite cold. Weather reports say that rain could come before the race later today.
Thed Björk was fourth fastest in his Honda Accord with Alfa Romeo-man Mattias Andersson in fifth. Ekblom’s championship rival Richard Göransson was sixth fastest and said that he had problems with the differential.
Tomas Engström was seventh fastest ahead of Robin Rudholm, Tommy Kristoffersson and Roger Eriksson in tenth.
Qualifying starts at 12.25 and the race at 15.00.
