Robert Dahlgren takes pole number five

Robert Dahlgren continues the pole domination! The qualifying session for the ninth round of the Swedish Touring Car Championship at Knutstorp saw Dahlgren taking his fifth pole of the year ahead of Thomas Schie and Robin Rudholm.
“This time it will last, I can feel it! I gives us a lot of strength to be on pole and I hope it will last the entire race,” said Dahlgren to STCC.se.

Norwegian and Chevrolet-man Schie was happy with second and says he is going to push very hard in the start.
“It worries me that Dahlgren drives so defensively. It will not be easy to get past him, but it must be doable. I will give everything in the start,” said Schie.

While Dahlgren was more than happy on pole, things were much worse for his team mate Tommy Rustad. The Norwegian crashed hard during the pre qualifying session. His Volvo C30 was so damaged that his team has said that he will not be in this race.

Title competitors Fredrik Ekblom, Richard Göransson and Thed Björk were separated in the qualifying session. Göransson was best of the three and will start from fourth place on the grid.
“I still have problems with the clutch. But the car is very good indeed and if we solve this problem the race will be very interesting,” said Göransson.

Ekblom was not happy with his lap.
“I made a mistake in corner five, I took a long shot that did not work. I needed some luck to get in to the top, but this time it did not work,” said Ekblom.

Björk on the other hand was further down on the grid, as low as tenths place.
“We could not get the car to work properly. When I get penalty weight the car gets completely off pace,” said Björk.
