Rustad wants to win in Norway
Tommy Rustad is looking for revenge at his home race in Norway. The Swedish Touring Car Championship is heading for the Norwegian round at the Våler-track.
“I want to be on the podium at Våler. To take a win with the Volvo C30 in front of the home crowd in Norway would be great,” said Rustad to STCC.se.
During the previous STCC race at Knutstorp, things ended abruptly for Rustad already during qualifying. The Norwegian lost control over a crest on the track and crashed in to the barriers.
“We have analyzed the crash and I have the same speed as when I passed the corner last lap. The team suspects that it could have been a growing puncture or something like that. It is nice to get an answer and know that it is not a drivers mistake,” said Rustad.
Despite the high hopes for Våler, Rustad knows it is not going to be easy.
“It is nog going to be a walk in the part. It will be tough, but I know that we are fast. We have been very quick during the last three races and we have a winners’ car if everything goes according to plan,” said Rustad.
