Ekblom takes important pole in Norway

Fredrik Ekblom took an important pole position today in Norway. The WestCoast Racing-man took pole only 0.045 seconds ahead of Robert Dahlgren while Ekblom’s main rival for the championship, Richard Göransson, will start sixth.
“Things can’t be much better than this. I got a good car by the team, that is what helped me to the pole,” said Ekblom.

Dahlgren headed a Volvo 2-3 with his team mate Tommy Rustad, doing his home race at Våler, third.
“I made a good first sector but I got a bit too careful during the second sector and that will not get you pole position,” said Dahlgren.

Johan Stureson qualified fourth ahead of Roger Eriksson and Richard Göransson. The Flash Engineering-driver was not happy with his Super Pole-lap.
“I put two wheels on the grass during my lap. I am very disappointed now, but the race runs over 40 laps and I can promise you all that I will drive flat out,” said Göransson.

Göransson leads the championship with six points over Ekblom and there is a chance for Göransson to secure the title today. But there are more drivers than Ekblom that is going to try and stop Göransson. Robin Rudholm qualified seventh and is joint third in the championship with Thed Björk.

Honda-man Björk once again struggled in qualifying and will start tenth behind his team mate Tomas Engström.

The race starts at 15.00 CET.
