New manufacturer to build S2000 car

TouringCarTimes has received information that a completely new car is being build in S2000 specification and will be showed during the Swedish Touring Car Championship finale at Mantorp this weekend. The car is from a manufacturer that previously never has been represented in either STCC or the S2000 rules.

The car will perform its first shakedown today in Sweden by a former STCC-race winner.

It is still uncertain if the car will be run in the STCC next year. But the manufacturer involved is reported to have contributed to the budget to build the car and could be interested in helping the team out in the STCC 2009.
