Göransson celebrates title with golden suit

Newly crowned Swedish Touring Car Championship champion Richard Göransson celebrates his title with a golden drivers suit. A special helmet has also been made, of course in the golden color.
“When I started competing in the STCC 2003 I had a dream that I one day would become the most successful driver ever. That dream has come true now and I am celebrating it with my new suit,” said Göransson.

Göransson won his first STCC-title in 2004, then followed it up with a second consecutive one in 2005 and the third one this year.

Göransson and championship rival Fredrik Ekblom are the only drivers having taken three titles, but Göransson has won more races in the same period of time.

The fight for the team championship in the STCC 2008 is still raging between Göransson’s team, Flash Engineering, and Ekblom’s, WestCoast Racing.
“We’ve got a good battle ahead of us at Mantorp. Hopefully my golden suit will help us, or at least psych out the guys at WestCoast Racing,” said Göransson with a smile.
