CVR on target for 2009
Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing has announced that the first of it’s two SEAT Leons that they intend to run in the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship will arrive before Christmas reports Crash.net.
The team will enter two ex-factory WTCC Leons powered by E85 bio-ethanol instead of the Petrol or Diesel power that has given the marque so much sucess over the past years.
The drivers entered by Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing have been named as Dan Eaves and the Indian racer Phiroze Bilimoria.
Dan Eaves is no stranger to the BTCC. He is the only driver to have won all three races at a race meeting, Thruxton May 2005. Phiroze Bilimoria meanwhile will be new to the frantic world of touring car racing, having raced in GT’s and other championships.
“We are pleased to announce that Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing will take delivery of its first Seat Leon mid December in-line with the teams plans and schedule for 09,” team manager Colin Neill told Crash.net. “We expect to bring the second car on-stream in January ahead of our winter testing programme.
“In the meantime we hope to have an engine on the dyno and ready to run E85 for the first car arriving, then we can get Dan back behind the wheel where he belongs and give it a shakedown as soon as is practical.”
