One million in prize money for 2009

The Swedish Touring Car Championship organisers have reintroduced prize money. For the 2009 season a total of one million Swedish Kronor (98 000 €) will be up for grabs.
“To introduce prize money is our way to try and put more energy in the championship,” said Bob Huzell, STCC MD.

It has not been set yet exactly how the prize money will be distributed. But according to our information 100 000 Swedish Kronor (9 800 €) will be available per race for the best team.

“We are able to show that the championship is strong, that we have a stable ground and that we want to re-invest directly back to the people involved in the championship,” said Huzell.
