Huggare to drive Opel Astra in 2009

According to our information Viktor Huggare has bought the Opel Astra Tommy Rustad drove in the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2007. Huggare competed in the privateers cup in a BMW 320i E46 this year, except during the final race when he rented the Peugeot 407 from Johan Sturesson and IPS Motorsport.

Huggare finished third in the privateers championship this year behind Dick Sahlén and champion Tobias Johansson.

The privateers cup will from the 2009 season allow cars up to the model year of 2006, which comes with some issues. For example:

The BMW 320si E90 will be allowed in the privateers cup now. But the reality means that as long as the chassis is of 2006 model the components of the car can be more or less 2009.

Since BMW are not producing various older updates of the car and a driver breaks one of those parts, the only option is to fit it with the updated parts of latest specification.
