Thommo to test Dynamics Civic
Former double BTCC Champion James Thompson is to test a Team Dynamics Honda Civic at Donington Park tomorrow reports Motorsport News.
The current WTCC driver is testing one of the cars as one of his options for 2009 as his current team N-Technology has yet to decide it’s future plans.
Thompson who won the 2002 and 2004 BTCC drivers title for Vauxhall is reported to be bringing an engineer with him to help evaluate the car as he is committed, if he joins the team, to be in a position to challenge for the title straight away.
Steve Neal has made no secret that having Thompson in one of his cars will fit nicely into his ‘Dream Team’ alongside his son Matt Neal. Matt meanwhile has been confirmed as the team mate to double BTCC Champion Fabrizio Giovanardi again in 2009.
As yet the only other driver connected with the team is 57 year-old David Pinkney who Steve Neal has confirmed that they may run him in a customer car.
With Tom Chilton moving to the Arena Ford Focus project, and with no news on whether Gordon Shedden will stay. With Thompson in the car, Team Dynamics could be the Team of 2009!
