Jonasson joins Semcon Cup in a Opel

Semcon Cup has got its second entry for the Swedish Touring Car Championship season 2009. 19 year old Billi Jonasson will team up with the already confirmed Viktor Huggare in a second Opel Astra.
“This feels very inspiring! I bet I am going to be nervous when the premiere gets closer, but I am not worried and I am thinking positively,” said Jonasson to Gotlands Allehanda.

Jonasson has limited experience from the Swedish racing scene. Last year he made his debut in the Ginetta G20 Cup where he took a podium finish in his second race ever.

The step from Ginetta G20 Cup to STCC will be immense but Jonasson is confident that it is the right step to take.

Jonasson will drive a Opel Astra from 2007, almost identical to the one Huggare is going to drive.

“To drive a two car team is better in many aspects. We can compare data, discuss development and split costs in a new way,” said team manager Håkan Huggare.
