BMW for Mikko Tiainen in Semcon Cup?

There could be a Finnish driver in the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2009 according to the official championship site stcc.se. Rumors indicate that the driver will be Mikko Tiainen, behind the wheel of a BMW 320si E90, running in the privateers championship Semcon Cup.

The BMW to be used by Tiainen is reported to be the one Mikko Eskelinen drove last year in the Finnish championship, clinching the title.

Tiainen drove a couple of races in the Finnish championship last year in a BMW 320i E46. His best finish in 2008 was fourth.

This would be the first time since 2004 that a Finnish driver enters STCC and the first time ever that a Finnish driver enters for a full season.

If confirmed, this would be the third confirmed entry for the Semcon Cup 2009. Other rumors of drivers being on the verge of finalizing their details for the Semcon Cup have started to appear.

Previous Carrera Cup Scandinavia-driver Micke Ohlsson is rumored to have visited the STCC Peugeot-team, being interested in buing/renting the Peugeot 407 that was driven in STCC by Johan Stureson in 2007.
